Ignite Web Traffic: The Ultimate Guide to Landing Pages

So you’ve got a website, but hearing crickets? Or maybe, you’re just getting started with no website and not a clue where to begin. Well, consider this the start of your supercharged journey to building a landing page that works overtime for you.

Whether you’re a seasoned website owner or a newcomer, using the StoryBrand 7-part framework, you’re about to transform your landing page into a web-traffic magnet. Let’s leave the confusion behind and start inviting the crowds to your digital doorstep.

**1. Who is Your Hero? Understand Your Potential Customer**

First things first, get to know your hero – your potential customer. Every hero has a unique journey, with different needs, goals, and pain points. Maybe they’re on the hunt for information, solutions, or maybe just a laugh.
To craft a high-traffic landing page, you need to understand these heroes intimately. What do they want? What’s stopping them from reaching their goals? Put yourself in their shoes and identify their needs. Your webpage should feel like the answer to their prayers. Show them that you see them, hear them, and are ready to help them overcome their challenges.

Understand Your Potential Customer

**2. Addressing the Problem: Why They Need You**

Every hero’s journey revolves around a significant problem they need to solve. Your landing page needs to make it crystal clear that you understand their struggle and offer a way out. It’s not about showcasing how great your product or service is, but highlighting how it can eliminate their obstacles.

Your landing page needs to empathize with their struggles – the constant juggling, the endless decisions, the struggle to stay focused. Then, position your product or service as the solution to these problems. Make your webpage scream, “I have what you need to overcome your obstacles!”

**3. Be Their Guide: That’s You**

Your landing page must convey that you’ve got the experience, skills, and resources to lead them out of their struggles and towards their goals.

Showcase your expertise and past successes. Tell compelling stories about how you’ve guided others to victory. Help your visitors see that you’re the guide they’ve been searching for.

**4. Create a Clear Plan: Offer the Solution**

Now that they know you understand their struggles, it’s time to lay out your plan. Your landing page should detail exactly how your product or service will solve their problems. Use clear steps, bullet points, and simple language to make it as easy as pie to follow.

What will the sessions look like? How will you keep them accountable? How will you help them achieve their business goals? Make sure they can visualize their journey with YOUR product or service.

**5. Inspire Action: Your Call to Action**

Every high-converting landing page needs a clear and persuasive Call To Action (CTA). This is the climax of your story, where you inspire your hero to take the next step.

For example, let’s say you’re looking for support putting these steps together. You spend some time searching online for a business coach that offers accountability coaching for small business owners with an online presence. You have narrowed your search down to three coaches that you feel would be a good fit for you. But one coach specifically is currently offering a marketing workshop with a CTA to ‘Turn Your Website into a Revenue Powerhouse’.

In this example, the CTA was bold, prominent and irresistible, reinforcing the value you’ll gain by attending the workshop AND what the outcome will be. It spoke to you by understanding your current pain point and offered what the outcome will be by registering for the online workshop. You could still be on the fence and if you are the following two key points work to seal the deal.

Call to Action

**6. Paint the Picture of Success: Show them the Promise Land**

Your heroes want to know what’s waiting for them at the end of the journey. Use your landing page to paint a vivid picture of their future success. Share testimonials of your past clients’ victories, the newfound freedom, increased profits, or peace of mind they have found.

Remember, success doesn’t just mean business growth.

Picture of Success

**7. What’s at Stake: The Cost of Inaction**

Finally, don’t be shy about highlighting the cost of not taking action. What are the consequences of not addressing their problems? Will they keep struggling with low web traffic, poor conversion rates, or unmet business goals? It’s okay to instill a sense of urgency and motivate them to act now.

Building a high-converting landing page may seem like a huge task, but trust us – armed with these principles, you’ve got everything you need to create a traffic-attracting, client-converting machine!
