How to Become Your Own Food Guru With Heather Fleming
Picture this, you’ve had a long week at work, you finish Friday exhausted, and all you want is just to grab a slice of pizza because you tell yourself you deserve it. Then you eat it, and the shame spiral begins. “I shouldn’t have eaten that. I broke my diet. Now I feel like crap.” How many of you can relate?
Our relationship with food can be quite complicated. Food can feel so good, but yet it can make us feel so bad. Many of us tend to have a love-hate relationship with food. With so many kinds of diets and fads out there, it can be hard to determine what we should and shouldn’t be putting into our bodies. Plus, everybody has to eat right, so the opportunities to make a “bad” food decision are all around us.
So to provide a deep dive session into how we can be our own food gurus, I have Heather Dawn join me in this episode. She is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist and the founder of Conscious Nutrition. Her mission is to help provide a solid foundation to help others learn how to nourish themselves with their food. In our conversations, we discuss how food is truly the gateway to look deeper with ourselves and lose that perfectionism mindset that brings about so much shame when it comes to eating food. We discuss why diets do not work, how we can manage our cravings and regain power over them, and she shares her tips on how to bring nourishing foods into your daily life.
I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did!
