I started selling apples off my grandfather’s tree when I was 8 years old (because a lemonade stand was so “yesterday”). I went on to launch a cake decorating business in high school, work for the Governor of Florida, and IBM in my early 20s.
Always wanting to improve and do things MY way, I founded my first software company at 23. We developed Point of Sale systems for amusement parks and I traveled the world while growing the business from nothing to over $1M in sales annually.
After 13 years, I sold the company and purchased another business – a construction company. It sounds awesome, but my timing sucked and that same year the industry crashed along with my business. However, the best entrepreneurs have all failed – it’s the getting back up that makes you great.
I accepted a position as the Software Division President for a $54M manufacturing firm and in 2 short years grew sales from $300k to $2.2M. The pay was great. The benefits were great. But, the ethics of the company left much to be desired and after a few years, I realized my kids knew the nanny better than me. Not okay.
I went on to lead high-level accountability and masterminding groups for an international network of women entrepreneurs. It was here I realized, I had made millions for my own company and for corporate, so why not help others do the same? That’s how I found my ultimate passion and purpose…
Now, I’ve found my joy. Coaching other business owners on their journey while running my companies. I’m married to my soul mate Douglas Robbins and we love to take motorcycle trips zooming up mountains and winding country roads. Loving my three beautiful children who teach me something new every day. Riding my horse, Hockey, who keeps me on my toes. Finding a true work-life balance has not been easy, but it’s been a journey well worth the effort and the accomplishment of which I am most proud.
